ESPN NFL draft analyst Matt Miller is taking an indefinite leave of absence from the network as he continues recovering from devastating injuries suffered in a June car crash.

Miller announced Friday that he will step away from his ESPN duties to focus fully on his rehabilitation after undergoing multiple major surgeries.

“To best focus on my healing and recovery, I’m stepping away indefinitely and will be placed on leave from ESPN,” Miller wrote on X.

“Thank you to all for the prayers and thoughts; please keep them coming.”

He also shared encouraging news about his recent procedures, revealing that doctors were able to save his left leg after surgeries on his femur and patella.

“The surgery to remove my left arm was successful with hopes of an eventual prosthetic replacement,” Miller added. “Similarly, the femur and patella surgeries were also successful and the fantastic surgery team was able to save my left leg.”

Miller suffered severe injuries in a June 17 collision involving his Ford Bronco and a semi-truck in Missouri.

He was airlifted to a hospital and underwent multiple surgeries, including a life-saving amputation of his left arm.

He also suffered a compound fracture of his left femur, a shattered left kneecap, multiple broken ribs and lost a significant amount of blood.

In the weeks since the accident, Miller has also faced scrutiny over allegations involving fantasy football charity leagues he reportedly operated.

After a Reddit thread detailing the allegations went viral, Awful Announcing revealed that the Missouri Attorney General’s Office was investigating claims that Miller withheld prize money or charitable payments from multiple participants.

The attorney general’s office confirmed to the outlet that it has “an open investigation into this issue.”

Miller has yet to publicly address the allegations.

ESPN declined to comment when originally approached by Awful Announcing.
