The Jets’ season got off to a bizarre start, even by their standards.

A man was spotted crawling across the giant American flag covering the field during the national anthem ahead of the season opener against Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers on Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium.

Fans on social media captured and posted videos of the comical incident as the man crawled across the red and white stripes towards the visiting sideline before climbing off the flag in front of confused Pittsburgh players.

The Jets are attempting to end an NFL-high 14-year playoff drought this season under first-year head coach Aaron Glenn.

The Jets led 26-17 through three quarters behind one passing and one rushing touchdown by new quarterback Justin Fields, but Rodgers threw his third and fourth scoring strikes of the game early in the fourth to give the Steelers a 31-26 lead.
