In what finally seems to be decision day for Lane Kiffin, of course, there are some added delays and drama.

The Ole Miss head coach, who is expected to leave for LSU (right?), was set to hold a team meeting Sunday morning — which has since been delayed to 2 p.m. ET, at least as of publication time.

According to various reports, including from Yahoo Sports, the delay was caused by the fight between the school and Kiffin regarding the future of the staff.

Some staff members are expected to follow Kiffin to LSU, while Ole Miss — in the midst of an 11-1 season that will end in the College Football Playoff — wants to retain as many of its coaches as possible.

The belief is Kiffin wants to finish the season with Ole Miss and coach in the CFP — a notion that Ole Miss officials do not appreciate.

On3 Sports reported that Kiffin is essentially threatening Ole Miss that if he cannot coach in the Playoff, he would poach as much of the roster and staff as he could.

After the planned meeting, Kiffin and Ole Miss were expected to announce their plans.

Amid the delay, though, there is doubt whether Kiffin will even be present because of his travel plans to Louisiana, according to Yahoo.

Kiffin had said he would officially decide between the two schools Saturday, a deadline that came and went without an announcement (although he is widely expected to choose LSU).

There had been thought that Kiffin might coach one final game in the SEC Championship, but Alabama beating Auburn on Saturday night eliminated the Rebels.

Alabama and Georgia will play for the SEC championship.
