Report card from the Knicks’ 105-104 win over the Spurs in Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Friday night in San Antonio:
Jalen Brunson
A poor shooting night throughout. Brunson was blowing layups and open shots and everything else you wouldn’t expect. He even missed a big free throw down the stretch. But the point guard also had a pivotal steal and left Frost Bank Arena with a 2-0 lead. His final line was ugly, though — 20 points, 7-for-25 shooting and four turnovers. But he did have five steals.
Grade: C
Karl-Anthony Towns
The best player in the first half while dropping 17 points with seven boards in those opening two quarters. KAT then fell into foul trouble after a pair of questionable calls midway through the third quarter, disrupting his rhythm. He cooled off considerably and finished with 21 points and 13 boards.
