Justin Fields’ disaster of a season with the Jets took another turn for the worse, as the quarterback will be out Sunday with knee soreness.

Aaron Glenn made the announcement prior to Friday’s practice in advance of Sunday’s game against the Dolphins at MetLife Stadium.

The coach added that Brady Cook will serve as the backup to Tyrod Taylor and they would see how Fields’ knee progresses to determine his status going forward.

Fields hasn’t played since Nov. 13 against the Patriots, having been benched in favor of Taylor.

Fields has started nine games for the Jets, with the team going 2-7, after signing a two-year, $40 million deal in the offseason after a poor season with the Steelers.

He’s guaranteed $10 million for next year and said after being benched he wants to be a starter again.

Cook, 24, was signed by the Jets as an undrafted free agent coming out of Missouri in May and had been on the practice squad since August. He was active for their game against the Buccaneers in September.

He has yet to appear in an NFL game.
