Trader Darren was at it again Wednesday.
Jets general manager Darren Mougey shipped special teamer Irv Charles to the Seahawks in exchange for a 2028 conditional seventh-round pick, a source confirmed.
This is the 13th trade involving a player that Mougey has made since he took the job in 2025.
It is remarkable that Mougey got anything for Charles, who was unlikely to make the Jets this season.
The team signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2022 and he became a special teams ace in 2023 with the team.
Charles blocked a punt against the Titans in 2024 and was a core special teamer.
He tore his ACL in a Week 14 game against the Dolphins and that caused him to miss the entire 2025 season.
The 29-year-old faced an uphill battle to make the team this year as he was replaced at gunner last year by Kene Nwangwu, Qwan’tez Stiggers and Arian Smith.
