Jets' Justin Fields has chance to prove he's more than the Other QB in Town

Justin Fields is the Other Quarterback in Town, which is fine with him and fine with coach Aaron Glenn.

But Glenn wanted Fields to be his quarterback just as Brian Daboll wanted Jaxson Dart to be his quarterback. With the 0-4 Jets reeling, this would be a good time for Fields to send a jolt of electricity through fans at MetLife Stadium the way Dart did for Giants fans in his first NFL start last Sunday.

Daboll, in Year 4, has staked his Giants career on Dart. Glenn, four games into his first head coaching job, did not need to stake his career on Fields.

But: Glenn showed Aaron Rodgers the door. He didn’t want to begin his dream job with a celebrity quarterback’s shadow looming over him. He wanted to begin his dream job with Fields, the antithesis of the celebrity quarterback, signed him to a two-year, $40 million contract ($30M guaranteed) and hoped he could develop him into his quarterback of the future.
