The first pick was always going to be a tell of sorts for embattled Jets head coach Aaron Glenn, coming off a miserable and often embarrassing 3-14 rookie season.

Once the Jets chose Texas Tech linebacker David Bailey with the No. 2 overall pick in Thursday night’s first round of the NFL draft, that tell became obvious:

WIN NOW.

That’s the clear-and-present directive under which Glenn is operating, and his first-round pick — perhaps the most NFL-ready player available — provided the evidence.
