Breece Hall recently called Olu Fashanu and Armand Membou the Jets’ “two future $100 million tackles.”
Based on 25 years of history, the NFL would call hitting on both of two offensive tackles drafted with first-round picks in back-to-back years “a lightning strike,” but maybe the hard-luck Jets are due for just that kind of rarity.
“From a talent perspective, absolutely they both can be those type of tackles,” ESPN NFL analyst Damien Woody, a former Jets right tackle, told The Post. “Did Breece pull the trigger a little too early? Maybe. But the Jets might have hit the jackpot with both of these guys, and if you do that, it sets the table for your offense for years to come.”
Though drafted by different general managers, Fashanu (No. 11 in 2024) and Membou (No. 7 in 2025) are one of only five pairs of offensive tackles taken with first-round picks in back-to-back drafts since 2000, according to noti.group’s research of Pro Football Reference’s database.
