PHILADELPHIA — If the Mets make it into October, they can become dangerous again, Mets star Brandon Nimmo told The Post. Even as they keep losing, he insisted they believe it, too.

Call him delusional if you want — I’d simply say hopeful — but Nimmo even suggested other National League teams would prefer not to have to play them in the games that count most. Nimmo, known as a noted realist, also became the first to concede the playoffs are no certainty now.

“There are a lot of teams hoping we don’t make the playoffs,” Nimmo told The Post before the Mets lost their fifth straight to drop 10 games behind Philly. “There are definitely teams that don’t want to see us on the other side.”

Give them this: The Mets have the experience, for sure, and the know-how, even if it doesn’t seem that way at the moment.
