Daughter of former Auburn coach Hugh Freeze, Madi Freeze, said she was worried about her father for months prior to his firing.

Madi revealed in a TikTok video that Hugh’s health has been deteriorating after being diagnosed with an early form of prostate cancer in February.

He received the go-ahead to continue coaching over the summer.

“In some twisted way, there’s a relief factor for me personally because I’ve watched my dad’s health just deteriorate over this,” Madi said in the video. “Other people can see it, I know y’all can see it, he’s not healthy.

“I’m thankful there’s relief that my dad finally gets to have the surgeries that he needs, and they’re scheduled, and he’s going to get healthy.”

Madi, a student at Auburn, consistently attended Tigers games and posted pictures on her social media platforms, enjoying the perks of being the coach’s daughter.

“We loved Auburn, and the second we got here, everybody was very adamant that if you love Auburn, it will love you back,” she said. “Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for us…. We don’t wish bad upon them, but we do hope that they turn to the lord and find Jesus.”

Auburn had a tough season behind Freeze, going just 1-5 in conference and 4-5 overall.

The Tigers suffered four straight tight losses to ranked teams in Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Georgia, and Missouri that derailed a once-promising season.

A report later emerged saying Hugh irked some at the school by golfing regularly.

He posted a 15-19 record with the SEC program in his three seasons, going 6-7 and 5-7 in his first two years.

After the firing, the school posted a heartfelt message in support of Hugh.

“Coach Freeze is a man of integrity, and we are appreciative of his investment in Auburn and his relentless work over the last three years in bolstering our roster,” Auburn said in a press release.

“Our expectations for Auburn Football are to annually compete for championships and the search for the next leader of Auburn Football begins immediately.”

James Franklin, the former Penn State coach, is expected to be among those pursuing the Auburn job.
