The Marvel Cinematic Universe has taken on technology, and more recently, magic has played a major role in the evolving storylines, but the latest installment follows what happens when the two clash.

“Magic vs. machines” will be a major theme in “Ironheart,” which premieres tonight, June 24, exclusively on Disney+.

Dominique Thorne will return to play the titular hero, also known as Riri Williams, after making her MCU debut in 2022’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” Riri is a genius inventor and MIT student who builds a suit of armor that rivals Tony Stark’s Iron Man gear.

The new series follows Riri in the aftermath of the events in “Wakanda Forever,” as her outlook on being Ironheart changes. She returns home to Chicago and finds herself entangled with the enigmatic Parker Robbins a.k.a. The Hood(Anthony Ramos), who introduces her to secrets that pit technology against magic.

‘Ironheart’ release date: When does ‘Ironheart’ come out?

“Ironheart” comes out tonight, June 24, at 9 p.m. ET only on Disney+. The limited series will premiere with three-episodes tonight.

How to watch ‘Ironheart’:

Disney+ offers a number of subscription options, so you can find the one that works for you. With ads, a subscription costs $9.99/month; without ads, it’s $15.99/month or $159.99/year.

There are also Disney+ bundles with Hulu, Max, and ESPN+, so you can subscribe to up to three services at once and save over 40% every month. The bundles are available in a few different configurations, starting at $10.99/month for Disney+ and Hulu with ads, and going up to $29.99/month for Disney+, Hulu, and Max ad-free.

‘Ironheart’ episode release schedule:

“Ironheart” will release over two weeks; see below for the release schedule.

  • Episode 1: “Take Me Home” – June 24 at 9 p.m. ET
  • Episode 2: “Will the Real Natalie Please Stand Up?” – June 24 at 9 p.m. ET
  • Episode 3: “We in Danger, Girl” – June 24 at 9 p.m. ET
  • Episode 4: “Bad Magic” – July 1 at 9 p.m. ET
  • Episode 5: “Karma’s a Glitch” – July 1 at 9 p.m. ET
  • Episode 6: “The Past Is the Past” – July 1 at 9 p.m. ET

‘Ironheart’ cast guide:

You may recognize members of the “Ironheart” cast from the Star Wars universe, “In The Heights,” and “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”

  • Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams / Ironheart
  • Anthony Ramos as Parker Robbins / The Hood
  • Lyric Ross as Natalie Washington
  • Alden Ehrenreich as Joe McGillicuddy
  • Manny Montana as “H.R.” John
  • Matthew Elam as Xavier Washington
  • Anji White as Ronnie Williams: Riri’s mother
  • Shea Coulee as Slug
  • Sonia Denis as Clown
  • Shakira Barrera as Ros Blood
  • Zoe Terakes as Jerry Blood
  • Eric André as Stuart Clarke / Rampage
  • Jim Rash as the Dean of MIT

Additionally, Regan Aliyah, Harper Anthony, Rashida “Sheedz” Olayiwola, Paul Calderón, Cree Summer, and Sacha Baron Cohen have all been cast in roles that have not been revealed ahead of the series premiere.

What to watch before ‘Ironheart’:

If you only have time to brush up on one MCU installment before diving into “Ironheart,” make it “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” The 2022 sequel to “Black Panther” introduced Dominique Thorn’s Riri Williams into the MCU, and is still the character’s only live action appearance ahead of the new series.

Thorn reprised her role as Riri in “What If… the Emergence Destroyed the Earth?,” a Season 3 episode of the animated MCU anthology series “What If…?”.

Since Riri’s tech is, as her name implies, inspired by Tony Stark’s Iron Man tech, the three “Iron Man” movies may also make a great addition to your watchlist, and the “Doctor Strange” duology could be helpful, as “Ironheart” trailers have hinted at magic use.

All of these Marvel titles can be streamed on Disney+.
