Four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka continues her run toward a fifth title in tonight’s US Open quarterfinal match against No. 11 Karolina Muchova.

Osaka, a two-time US Open champion, won four Slam titles in four years, between 2018 and 2021. She then stepped away from the sport to prioritize her mental health, and took 2023 off after the birth of her daughter. Tonight’s quarterfinal marks her first in a Grand Slam since 2021. She advanced following a win against Coco Gauff.

She’ll face Muchova, who has gone to three sets in all four of her US Open matches so far. She’s defeated Venus Williams, Sorana Cirstea, Linda Noskova, and Marta Kostyuk on her road to the quarterfinals.

Head-to-head, Osaka and Muchova have met four times before, with each having two wins. Most recently, Osaka eliminated Muchova in the 2025 Australian Open Round of 64.
