Another new streaming era for the NBA kicks off tonight with an Eastern Conference Cavaliers vs. Pistons matchup.

While NBA on NBC debuted last week as the 2025-26 season opened, tonight marks the first Monday night of the season and Cavs vs. Pistons marks the first Peacock exclusive game of the year.

Peacock will carry one or two exclusive games every week of the season, in addition to simulcast Tuesday night games and an occasional weekend exclusive.

So, yes, that means you’ll need a Peacock subscription if you want to tune into tonight’s Cavs vs. Pistons matchup.

Cavaliers vs. Pistons: what to know

  • When: Oct. 24, 7:30 p.m. ET
  • Where: Little Caesars Arena (Detroit, Michigan)
  • Streaming: Peacock (try it free for seven days)

Both the Cavs and the Pistons are entering their fourth games of the season tonight with identical 2-1 records.

Tonight’s (Oct. 27) Cavs vs. Pistons game will not air on traditional cable as it is exclusive to the Peacock streaming service.

How to watch Cavaliers vs. Pistons for free:

Peacock currently offers two subscription types: Premium with ads and Premium Plus ad-free. Peacock Premium costs $10.99/month, while Premium Plus costs $16.99/month.

You can save a bit by subscribing to one of Peacock’s annual plans, which give you 12 months for the price of 10. These cost either $109.99 with ads or $169.99 without ads.
