SAN FRANCISCO — The Liberty’s title defense officially begins in less than two weeks.
How valiant of a fight they will put up will be fascinating to see.
The Liberty up to this point haven’t played like a championship-caliber team. Their defensive chemistry has been hampered by injuries to several key players, but the best teams find ways to win in the face of adversity. And the Liberty haven’t been able to do that on a consistent basis.
Then again, the Liberty are the defending champions. If the team wins it all come next month, we won’t be talking about what happened in the regular season.
