Lamine Yamals’ three-year-old brother officially has weekend plans.
Behind goals from Mikel Oyarzabal and Pedro Porro, Spain defeated Kylian Mbappé’s France 2-0 in the semifinal to advance to the World Cup Final for the first time since 2010. They’ll play either Lionel Messi’s defending champion Argentina or Jude Bellingham’s explosive England at East Rutherford, NJ’s MetLife Stadium on Sunday, July 19.
“‘The pride I have for every single one of this group of players is great, but now we have to keep going,” head coach Luis De La Fuente said after the match. “We still have one more step to go. We’re going to try to achieve it.”
If you’d like to see the steady yet dominant club attempt to win the entire tourney — and set the fútbol record for most consecutive games without a loss — tickets are available as of today.
At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on seats was $7,253 including fees on SeatGeek.
100-level seats start at $14,362 including fees.
Make sure to use promo code NYPOST10 for $10 off purchases over $250 at checkout (Editor’s Note: this discount is only valid for users’ first purchase on SeatGeek).
As noted above, La Roja will play either La Albiceleste or The Three Lions next; that will be determined in what will surely be a tense semifinal match in Atlanta today.
Prior to this high-stakes showdown, Spain has won 5 of their 13 meetings against Argentina. The only time the pair squared off on the pitch in the World Cup was way back in 1966 in a group stage match. Argentina won 2-1.
England obviously has a fraught political relationship with Spain dating back to the early 1500s when King Henry VIII married Catherine of Aragon, which ended in divorce causing a major religious and political divide between the two nations.
Hundreds of years of international conflicts followed before they became allies in the 20th century.
They’re still enemies on the pitch, though.
Although they’ve only played against each other the World Cup twice, they recently battled in the Euro 2024 Final in Berlin and La Roja came out on top 2-1.
Whatever happens, don’t miss this Finals match. Fútbol history is on the line.
Plus, as a bonus, Madonna, Shakira, BTS, Justin Bieber, Burna Boy, and Gustavo Dudamel will perform at Chris Martin’s curated halftime show.
We’ll see you on the pitch.

What’s the best way to get to MetLife Stadium for World Cup matches?
Although transit to the World Cup has undoubtedly been a hot topic, there are quite a few options to get to the Meadowlands for the games (rather than walk as some out-of-towners have suggested).
These are your best bets:
• Eat the $105 round-trip cost (slashed from a previously-announced $150) and take the NJT. Trains will be running back and forth to Secaucus Junction where you can transfer to the Meadowlands rail line, which takes you two minutes away from the Stadium.
• Board the official NYNJ Stadium Shuttle. Direct round-trip buses can be picked up at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, Midtown East in Manhattan, and the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine Park-and-Ride in New Jersey. Be aware that tickets must be secured in advance through the New Jersey Transit World Cup platform. The major downside here? Potential traffic. The major upside? The Post reported that “round-trip bus fares for fans attending the 2026 FIFA World Cup have been cut by 75%…from $80 to $20.”
• Risk everything and book an Uber or Lyft. There are drop-off and pick-up zones outside MetLife. The major detractor here are likely exorbitant surge pricing and wait times. Proceed with caution here!
