The Giants got the first in-person crack at former Ravens coach John Harbaugh, who met with team brass Wednesday about their coaching vacancy.

They made it count.

Although Harbaugh returned home to the Baltimore area Wednesday night without a signed contract following an early dinner with team brass, noti.group’s Paul Schwartz reported just before midnight that the coach’s representation and the Giants were working on a deal that would bring the former Super Bowl winner to the team’s sideline.

Harbaugh was a clear-cut top choice over the others who had been linked to the job, which the Giants made clear to Harbaugh ever since he was fired by Ravens after 18 seasons.
