The new guard is talking to the old guard.

Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart posted on social media some highlights from his impressive rookie campaign and received a comment from former Big Blue star Odell Beckham Jr.

“😤😤” Beckham Jr. commented on the post, with two emojis with steam coming out of the nose.

“Whatcha say, bruh? 🤫” Dart replied to Beckham Jr’s comment.

While it’s most likely in good fun, there have been rumors for the last few years that the Giants could opt to bring their former receiver back to the team.

Beckham Jr. himself has called for a return to MetLife, which made sense last year when the Giants lost Malik Nabers to an injury and seemingly had only Wan’Dale Robinson to throw to among receivers.

Now, of course, the Giants have his former coach, John Harbaugh, in the building, who was a big fan of his.

“I love the guy,” Harbaugh said of Beckham in January 2023. “He’s a pro. He’s what you would expect from a world‑class athlete. … he’s a highly competitive guy. He wants to play at the highest level.”

Now three years later, Beckham Jr. hasn’t played much since he left Baltimore.

The former LSU standout signed with the Dolphins after departing from the Ravens and barely played while in Miami in 2024.

Beckham Jr. was spended for performance-enhancing drugs last season and served a six-game suspension, but did not appear in any games. He has since been reinstated from the league.

After being drafted by the Giants in 2014 by then-general manager Jerry Reese, Beckham Jr. burst onto the scene and appeared to be on a Hall of Fame trajectory after he registered three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons to start his career.

Beckham Jr. was injured on a preseason hit by Browns cornerback Briean Boddy‑Calhoun in what many thought was an unnecessary hit that eventually resulted in a lost season.

He was later traded by the next general manager, Dave Gettleman, to the Browns, where his career began to unravel.

The Rams acquired Beckham Jr. and won the 2022 Super Bowl, but he tore his ACL for the second time in less than a year during that game.

Still just 33, Beckham Jr. could probably still play, but the Giants will also be looking to get young at receiver to build around Dart, Nabers, and perhaps a top draft pick like Cardale Tate – whom they could select with the No. 5 overall pick this year.

Beckham Jr. has also been vocal about his financial difficulties as his NFL career has wound down despite over $100 million in career earnings.
