At this point, right now, Jaxson Dart wants to win. He feels as if he has to win.
The thought of picking up and going home with 11 consecutive losses to end his first NFL season and a win-loss record of 2-9 as the starting quarterback is enough to make the 22-year-old queasy in the stomach.
At this time next year, though, Dart might look back on what transpired Sunday Dec. 28, 2025 in Las Vegas and have a different feeling coursing through his body.
He might look around the locker room and be thrilled that Carnell Tate or Jordyn Tyson teamed with Malik Nabers to form a deadly 1-2 punch at wide receiver. Dart might be comforted to know Francis Mauigoa is his new, young right tackle or that Spencer Fano is his new, young starting right guard. Dart might be thrilled he is able to throw passes to tight end Kenyon Sadiq. And Dart one year from now could know that he can lean on a defense that added safety Caleb Downs or linebacker Arvell Reese or cornerback Mansoor Delane or big Peter Woods to pair on the defensive line with Dexter Lawrence.
