For the first time in four years, Aaron Rodgers is in the playoffs.

On Monday, Jan. 12, the 42-year-old quarterback will lead the 10-7 Pittsburgh Steelers in a high-stakes Wild Card contest against C.J. Stroud’s 12-5 Houston Texans at Acrisure Stadium.

If you’d like to be there to see if Rodgers still has more gas in the tank after a jaw-dropping week 18 win, last-minute tickets are still available.

Based on our findings across the primary and secondary market — meaning Ticketmaster, StubHub, Vivid Seats and GameTime — the lowest price we could find to get into the stadium was $140.40 including fees on Ticketmaster at the time of publication.

100-level seats start at $247 including fees on GameTime.

As hinted at above, Pittsburgh squeaked into the playoffs by narrowly beating Lamar Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens in a comeback, nail-biter 26-24 week 18 contest (after the field was blessed by a priest) to clinch the AFC North, the four-seed in the playoffs and home-field advantage. Rodgers secured the lead with less than a minute on the clock when he threw a bomb to Calvin Austin III.

One missed field goal later and the season was over.

Although this rollercoaster victory was impressive, the end-of-year result likely looks quite familiar to Steelers fans. As Yinzers may recall, the team finished 10-7 in 2023 and ’24 as well.

You’ll probably remember both years ended with losses in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.

This time around, they’re facing a particularly potent Texans team who ended their season tallying nine consecutive wins.

Still, head coach Mike Tomlin claimed the club is “a relatively healthy group” and has an optimistic outlook regarding their chances.

Is this the year Pittsburgh wins a playoff game for the first time since 2017?

We can’t say for certain but we do know the best way to find out is live and in person.

About the Steelers vs. Texans matchup

These two clubs haven’t met in a minute.

Their last game went down in October 2023, aka Stroud’s rookie season.

Houston ended up winning 30-6 behind the Ohio State alum’s 306-yard, two touchdown game. This year, the Texans started 0-3 before clicking and ending the year on a tear with wins against the Bills, Chiefs and Chargers.

Pittsburgh’s 2025 was a bit rockier. After a shiny 4-1 start, GM Omar Khan looked like a genius for inking Aaron Rodgers. However, some tough losses set them back to 6-6, making the AFC North far more interesting and their standing at the top much wobblier.

A 3-1 finish, which included two huge wins over the Ravens, made for exquisite drama.

They aren’t favored in this contest, though.

“[The Texans’] defense is arguably the best in the NFL. Because of that, they are road favorites against the Steelers,” Behind The Steel Curtain writes.
