In 2023, Kyle Bradish finished fourth in Cy Young voting after going 12-7 with a 2.83 ERA, 12.1 strikeouts per nine and an 11 percent swinging-strike rate over 30 starts. Those results weren’t a mirage, as the right-hander went 2-0 with a 2.75 ERA, 12.1 strikeouts per nine, .186 opponents average and 10.7 percent swinging-strike rate in eight 2024 starts before a UCL injury required him to undergo Tommy John surgery.
After a 15-month layoff, Bradish returned to Baltimore’s rotation last month — and the results have been encouraging. It has been just two starts, but he struck out 39.5 percent of the batters he faced with a 13.9 percent swinging-strike rate — and that included a six-inning, 10-strikeout effort versus Boston in his 2025 debut.
