Drama at the FIFA World Cup this summer could actually help fans score big.

Domino’s is getting ready for the big soccer game by giving away free “Emergency Pizzas.”

The pizza chain announced that it will hand out $1 million worth of pizzas if any player from the US team receives a red card in the soccer tournament.

If any player on the US soccer team receives a red card, Domino’s will randomly select more than 60,000 winners to receive a free medium two-topping pizza.

“Soccer gurus know the worst thing to happen in a game is for a player on the team you’re rooting for to receive a red card,” Kate Trumbull, Domino’s executive vice president, said in a statement.

“If that happens to the American squad, Domino’s is here to help ease the pain by giving away Emergency Pizzas. It may not change the outcome of the match, but it can provide a delicious pick-me-up when it’s needed most.”

A red card is issued to players for more serious offenses of misconduct or unsportsmanlike behavior, such as violent actions, spitting, deliberately denying the opposing team a goal-scoring opportunity by committing a handball foul, or abusive, offensive or insulting language.

Players who receive a red card are automatically removed from the game, and in the World Cup, players are also banned from starting in the next match.

Fans must register on Domino’s website before June 10 at 11:59 p.m. ET to qualify for a chance to win, and they must be enrolled in Domino’s Rewards program. Those selected for a free Emergency Pizza have until Aug. 2, 2026, to redeem their pizza.

On top of the red card pizzas, Domino’s will be randomly surprising players of the video game EA Sports FC 26 with 75,000 free Emergency Pizzas.

Between now and June 5, Domino’s will give a unique promo code in the game experience for a medium, two-topping pizza every Friday to randomly selected players who are 18 or older.

“Maybe players loaded into EA SPORTS FC 26 on an empty stomach or perhaps their fridge is bare – whatever the reason, Domino’s is here to provide the emergency assist,” the company quipped.

Domino’s has also launched a limited-edition line of merchandise, co-branded with apparel company Saturdays Football, in celebration of the upcoming soccer matches.

Items include jerseys starting at $100, a cap for $45 and slides for $35.
