Dexter Lawrnece spoke out for the first time since he was traded to the Bengals over the weekend in a blockbuster pre-draft deal, which ended an offseason saga between the defensive tackle and the Giants.
In his first interview with team-affiliated media, Lawrence sounded like he had extra motivation going into the 2026 season with the Bengals.
“They wanted me here,” he said. “They appreciated the work that I’ve put in the last seven seasons. I’m going to do everything I can to show them they didn’t waste [a top 10] pick. I’ve got a fire in me that I’ve never had before.”
Lawrence was traded to Cincy in a deal that sent the Giants back the No. 5 overall pick in this week’s NFL draft.
