College basketball has a long season, which means handicapping occasionally involves accounting for injuries.

San Jose State has been hit as hard as any team, playing without its top three scorers for a few games this month.

The Spartans are just 1-7 in Mountain West play, their lone win coming against an Air Force squad that is winless in conference action.

San Jose State visits Wyoming on Saturday, and the Cowboys are 12-point favorite with the total sitting at 142.5 points at BetMGM.

There had been no betting odds posted as of early Friday evening because the Spartans may welcome back guard Colby Garland, who was listed as questionable for their last game (concussion).

However, even if he does return, it will likely take time to adjust to actual game speed and that lineup change can also have a negative domino effect on others.

Tim Miles is a capable coach but he lacks the firepower right now.

The Spartans are just 1-6 against the spread (ATS) in conference play in the underdog role and I do not expect that to change in Wyoming.

The Cowboys have lost four straight, so I anticipate a strong bounce-back performance against a wounded opponent.

Betting on College Basketball?

The adjusted numbers strongly favor Wyoming, as its offense ranks 91st in the country and the Spartans defense ranks 295th.

I have a 91-78-2 ATS record in this Post sports section, and my next pick is Wyoming laying the points against San Jose State.

BET: Wyoming -12.5 (-118, BetMGM)
