The Mets have another injury to worry about.

Pitcher Clay Holmes suffered a fractured fibula during the team’s 5-2 loss to the Yankees on Friday night, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said.

Mendoza said Holmes will be out a “long time.”

“It’s a huge blow,” Mendoza said. “He’s been one of the most consistent guys that we had in that rotation.”

Holmes took a 111 mph comebacker off the bat of Yankees rookie Spencer Jones to start the fourth inning, with the ball — which went into foul territory near the home dugout — hitting the Mets starter’s right leg as he planted.

After Jones reached base, Holmes was checked out by Mendoza and assistant athletic trainer Bryan Baca, delaying the game for a few minutes.

Holmes remained in the game for the rest of the inning and came back for the fifth, only getting removed after walking Jazz Chisholm Jr. with one out.

The Mets said they did not know the extent of Holmes’ injury until he went for X-rays after his departure.

Holmes will be the latest Mets star to head to the injured list, a group that includes right-hander Kodai Senga (back), shortstop Francisco Lindor (calf), catcher Francisco Alvarez (meniscus surgery) and first baseman Jorge Polanco (Achilles, wrist).

The right-hander came into the night with a 1.86 ERA and was arguably the team’s best starter through the first month and a half of the season.

He yielded four runs on seven hits and two walks with eight strikeouts over 4 ⅓ frames, with his ERA jumping to 2.39.
