The Central Park Boathouse is on its way to reopening, as the city’s Park Department and new operator Legends Hospitality announced last winter.

But it won’t happen all at once.

The Boathouse Cafe, an 80-seat outdoor venue, will open with a new menu later this month.

So will row boat rentals with an online booking system.

However, the larger dining room and bar overlooking the lake are “expected to open in late summer (August/September),” according to Legends rep Stacey Escudero.

The “phased approach allows us to quickly restore a portion of the union jobs that were previously lost, while also taking the proper time to make the interior/structural/exterior renovations needed,” she said.
