Wednesday night was a microcosm of the 2025 New York Liberty.

They have all the talent in the world but have not been healthy enough to consistently unleash it.

Breanna Stewart tried her best to play with a sprained MCL in her left knee. She fought through pain and risked the chance of further injury — something she said she made peace with “because I want to be out there with my team.”

But no one else was able to pick up the slack as the Mercury throttled the Liberty 86-60 to force a winner-take-all Game 3 in Phoenix on Friday.
