The sci-fi action flick, based on the Marvel Comics character, is the fourth installment — and the worst, according to The Post — in the “Captain America” film series.

Taking second was “The Monkey,” which The Post deemed a “poor man’s ‘Chucky’” that “isn’t scary or funny,” with sales of $5 million.

The comedy horror, starring Theo James of “Divergent” fame and based on a 1980 short story by Stephen King, was released on Friday.

Dropping to third in its second week in theaters was “Paddington in Peru,” which took in $1.565 million.

The live-action animated adventure is the third installment in the Paddington film series, based on the Paddington Bear children’s books by the late British author Michael Bond.

The Post said viewers of the family-friendly flick, which was released on Valentine’s Day, would “be hard-pressed not to enjoy the jolly jaunt.”

“Dog Man” barked its way to fourth place on its fourth Friday in theaters, with revenue of $1.33 million.

The animated action comedy film, based on Dav Pilkey’s children’s graphic novel, features the voices of Pete Davidson, Isla Fisher and Ricky Gervais.

The Chinese animated fantasy adventure “Ne Zha 2” came in fifth, with a $850,000 take.

It has already made history as the highest-grossing animated movie of all time worldwide, taking the crown from “Inside Out 2,” which previously held the title.
