Pat McAfee will be flanked by a legend for his 2024 NFL Draft show.
McAfee hosted Bill Belichick on his eponymous show on Wednesday and announced that Belichick will also be appearing on his “NFL Draft Spectacular” program live from the first round in Detroit next Thursday.
Asked why he agreed to do the show, Belichick gave a deadpan response.
“I’m looking forward to it. Draft day, draft weekend is always an exciting time for everybody — for the teams that are building their teams and for the fans and for everyone involved in it. It’s a great event and I’m looking forward to seeing it from the other side. It will fun to be in Detroit, be with you guys, and get your expertise,” Belichick said.
ESPN announced earlier this week that the “Draft Spectacular” will air on YouTube, TikTok, the ESPN App and ESPN+ next Thursday, beginning at 8:00 pm ET.
Perhaps this appearance could be the start of a broader collaboration to come.
McAfee has been saying since February, shortly after Belichick parted ways with the Patriots, that it would be a “dream come true” for him to work with the six-time Super Bowl champion head coach.
“I am trying my best to get Bill Belichick on this program at least once a week going forward. Just at least once a week going forward in the football season,” McAfee said at the time.
“Could you imagine us peppering Bill Belichick every single week throughout an entire football season? That’s if he wants to get into the media world and if he would want to be on our particular program. There’s a chance he says no way.”
