Argentina waited until the final moments to deliver one of the wildest betting swings of the World Cup.

Trailing Egypt late, Argentina scored three goals in the 79th minute or later to pull off a stunning 3-2 comeback victory, flipping what looked like a looming elimination and massive upset into a dramatic escape.

The late surge also created a massive payday for anyone who bought Argentina at its longest live price.

DraftKings Sportsbook said Argentina reached as long as +800 to advance during the match.

The price was even more dramatic in the 90-minute market.

Argentina’s longest in-game odds to win in regulation reached 30/1, according to DraftKings, before the three-goal blitz changed everything.

The wild comeback started with Cristian Romero cutting into the deficit in the 79th minute before Lionel Messi equalized the match four minutes later.

Enzo Fernández then completed the stunning turnaround in second-half stoppage time, scoring in the 92nd minute to seal a 3-2 escape that had looked impossible moments earlier.

The match was not without controversy, though.

In the 62nd minute, Egypt appeared to take a 2-0 lead on a stunning Mostafa Ziko goal, but it was wiped away after VAR ruled Marwan Attia had fouled Lisandro Martínez on the other side of the field — a decision Egypt coach Hossam Hassan later called an “injustice.”

Egypt came into the game looking for its first-ever appearance in the World Cup quarterfinals.

They were a hefty +1000 underdog to advance before kickoff.

Caesars Sportsbook reported a bettor placed a $200 live bet on Argentina at +2500 for a $5,200 payout. A DraftKings bettor wagered on +650 live odds to bank $32,500.

The win keeps Argentina’s hopes of becoming the first country to win back-to-back World Cups since Brazil in 1962.

Argentina will take on the winner of Colombia-Switzerland on Saturday in Kansas City.
