In his rookie season, Egbuka made history by becoming the first player to record at least 25 receptions, 400 receiving yards, and five receiving touchdowns within their first five NFL games.
Egbuka finished as one of the best young pass catchers in all of football, with 63 receptions for 938 yards and six touchdowns.
Although a nagging injury limited his impact down the stretch, the youngster showcased promise. So much so that Buccaneers Offensive Coordinator Zac Robinson is likely to create plays that feature him as the main Z weapon this season.
In nine games without Evans playing, Egbuka recorded 36 catches for 567 yards and three touchdowns. He also increased his involvement, with Mayfield targeting him an average of 8.5 times per game.
Egbuka’s 127 targets last season were the most for any first-year receiver, surpassing even Offensive Rookie of the Year Tetairoa McMillan.
