By the end of the day, the World Cup 2026 final will be set.
Defending champions Argentina will face off with England this afternoon for a spot in the final. It would be back-to-back finals appearances for La Albiceleste, while the Three Lions haven’t played in the World Cup final since 1966, when they won it all.
England’s campaign has been history-making, as Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane became the first two players to score six goals each for the same country during one World Cup. Bellingham scored both goals in England’s 2-1 quarterfinal victory over Norway.
As the race for the Golden Boot heats up, both Bellingham and Kane will be in the conversation with Argentinian superstar Lionel Messi, who has eight.
Argentina survived another scare in the quarterfinals. Tied 1-1 with Switzerland at the end of regulation time, Julián Álvarez and Lautaro Martínez came through with two huge goals in extra time to win the match.
