The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release that the man was found in a “in a confined ceiling area,” and that he was pronounced dead at the scene after fire crews arrived.

The Broncos said in a statement hey are “heartbroken to learn a subcontractor working on our new training center passed away Monday while on-site. We extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to the individual’s family, coworkers and friends during this difficult time.”

Construction began on the new 205,000-foot training facility back in August 2024.The Broncos are scheduled to begin training camp in late July.

In a separate statement, Turner Construction Company said work on the facility has been suspended.

The man has yet to be identified, police told the Denver Post, and his cause of death has not yet been determined.

Denver is coming off a strong 2025 season, in which the team went 14-3 and made it to the AFC Championship game behind its fearsome defense.

The Broncos open their 2026 season on Sept. 16 at the Chiefs.
