The Mets are still not done making offseason moves.
On Saturday, the Mets and nine-time All-Star closer Craig Kimbrel agreed to a minor league deal, noti.group’s Jon Heyman reported.
Exact details of the contract remain unclear, but Kimbrel will have an invite to MLB camp come this spring, according to Heyman.
Kimbrel, 37, made 14 appearances with the Braves and Astros last season, pitching to a 2.25 ERA and 17 strikeouts.
The righty also ranks second among active members of the MLB with 440 career saves, behind Kenley Jansen, who signed a deal with the Tigers in December.
Across his 16-year career in the majors, Kimbrel has posted a 2.58 ERA with 1,282 strikeouts through 851 games pitched.
The move will seemingly add more depth to the Mets’ staff, and comes just three days after the team traded for pitchers Freddy Peralta and Tobias Myers from the Brewers on Wednesday.
