The Ravens announced Thursday that they completed an interview with former Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel.

McDaniel is the latest name attached to the vacant head coaching position as the Ravens search for John Harbaugh’s replacement.

The Ravens already conducted interviews with several candidates since firing Harbaugh on Jan. 6, including Klint Kubiak, Kevin Stefanski, Vance Joseph, Davis Webb and Matt Nagy.

McDaniel is the 11th candidate that the Ravens have interviewed for the job.

He coached the Dolphins to a 7-10 season in 2025, and it seemed as though he would be brought back to South Florida to be given another opportunity to right the ship before he was ultimately fired.

Dolphins tight end Darren Waller revealed on the “Glory Daze Podcast” on Thursday that he may have been the last person to see McDaniel before the dismissal.

“My exit meeting was that Thursday morning, and he’s like, ‘I definitely want you back next year, and we’re reflecting on the year,’” Waller told host former quarterback Johnny Manziel. “And then [owner] Stephen Ross kicked the door in and he comes in and joins the conversation. We’re just all talking, reflecting on the year and then, the conversation kind of hits a lull.

“I’m sitting across the desk from Mike, and Stephen Ross is standing there looking at me like, ‘it’s time for you to go.’ I looked at Mike, he was like, ‘We’ll finish this conversation later.’”

“I was at the scene of the crime”

Waller then said that he left the room to get a massage in the team facility.

“I come up from the massage and check my phone, he’s fired. I’m like, damn this s–t is cold,” he said.

Comedian Dan Soder likely would agree with Waller’s takeaway at the end of his story.

The former “Billions” star ripped into Ross and ESPN analyst and former NFL great Troy Aikman — who came in as an unpaid adviser during the team’s GM search — during his “Soder” podcast.

Soder, who is a lifelong friend of McDaniel, called the Dolphins a “s–t organization.”
