A lot has changed in a year.
Last season, the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles squared off against Jayden Daniels the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship and won 55-23 at their home Lincoln Financial Field.
This year, Jalen Hurts and the 9-5 Birds have been up and down but are still sitting atop the NFC East. As for the 4-10 Commanders, they’ve been marred by injuries and are starting backup quarterback Marcus Mariota in Daniels’ place, after it was announced the LSU alum was out for the year.
Philadelphia and Washington both come into this week 16 matchup at Landover, MD’s Northwest Stadium having won their past contest. A victory for the Eagles today would further cement their postseason standing; their opponents could certainly use a confidence boost and would likely enjoy sweet, sweet revenge for last year’s shellacking in the playoffs.
