Joe Jonas has jokes by the ocean.
The Jonas Brothers performed their hit track “I Can’t Lose” during Saturday’s World Series game between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers at Toronto’s Rodgers Centre.
The annual Stand Up to Cancer tribute happened during the 5th inning. During the tribute, attendees held up the names of their loved ones affected by cancer.
Joe, 36, Nick, 33, and Kevin, 37, then sang for the crowd.
The next day, the MLB took to social media to share a picture of the Jonas Brothers on the field.
“SPEECHLESS, OVER THE EDGE, JUST BREATHLESS 😍The @JonasBrothers are here at #WorldSeries Game 2!,” they captioned their Sunday post, using lyrics from the group’s 2008 tune “Lovebug.”
However, not everyone felt like the move was a home run.
“Horrible idea to have a half time show AFTER a moment of silence for those impacted by cancer, in the middle of the WORLD SERIES. So bad,” one person wrote while another chimed in, “You stopped the game for a performance?”
Rounding out the harsh objections, a third fan said, “They might be good performers, but please never do this in the middle of a game again. Do it to start the game. This just changes the entire atmosphere.”
Joe simply commented: “Why these guys?”
However, one X user provided clarity on what was going on during the game.
“For anyone wondering, that wasn’t new. The MLB does this ‘stand up to Cancer’ intermission at the All-Star games and at some point during the #WorldSeries,” @JacobPacheco6 explained alongside a shot from a July game. “Touching moment. But the Jonas Brothers was super random.”
According to the MLB, Joe and his brothers held up a sign in honor of their father, Kevin Jonas Sr., who is a cancer survivor.
The Jonas Brothers, meanwhile, are no strangers to baseball games.
They released the music video to “I Can’t Lose” during the 2025 MLB All-Star Game in Atlanta in July.
The Dodgers ended up closing out the game against Toronto with a 5-1 victory.
