The Jets’ bye week arrives just as the team won its first game and could possibly build some momentum.

Instead, they get to rest up and reassess what they’ve done so far.

“I’ll be honest, and I’ll say, man, I wish we were playing next, but I do feel like this is a good time for us,” Jets coach Aaron Glenn said Monday. “Because now our focus, again as it’s always been, it’s been on us and some of the things that we just need to clean up. We’re going to go back and we’re going to self-scout as far as coaches and we’re going to talk to the players about things, about the good, bad, the ugly, and the solutions, also, for us moving forward. So, there’s a good and a bad to it.”

The Jets shocked the Bengals on Sunday with a 39-38 victory after trailing by 15 points entering the fourth quarter.

It was the team’s best offensive performance. But they must wait until Nov. 9, when they face the Browns at MetLife Stadium to see if they can build off it.

“Obviously, after you get a win you want to continue going,” Glenn said, “but I also know that there’s some things that we have to reflect on and try to continue to fix, and understand, there’s a foundation that we’re trying to create and that is an ongoing process. And we feel good about that. Listen, even though the record’s not where it wants to be, we feel good about the foundation that we’re trying to set, so we can be a team that’s going to win continuously.”

DT Harrison Phillips arrived in August and quickly bonded with LB Quincy Williams, who returned to the lineup Sunday after missing four games. Williams’ impact could be felt.

“He’s just a spitball of energy,” Phillips said. “I remember when I first talked to you guys about having to change my style of play a little bit it was because I was thinking about how fast he comes down and pulls the double teams off. It was cool to see him shoot through a gap and get a major [tackle for loss] in the game and just do the things that he does. He is energy. I can feel his passion at practice. He has a way to lead and motivate the group that is completely different than I do. We talk a lot about how we’re a yin and a yang in our leadership styles.”

Glenn said LB Kiko Mauigoa is in the concussion protocol.
