Rebecca Gayheart is sharing how she and her family are doing amid husband Eric Dane’s ALS diagnosis.

The “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum, 54, said she and the “Euphoria” star’s, 52, two daughters, Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13, are “taking it day by day.”

“We have some professional therapists who are helping us, and we’re just trying to have some hope and do it with dignity, grace and love,” Gayheart added.

As she put it: “I mean, it’s heartbreaking. My girls are really suffering, and we’re just trying to get through it. It’s a tough time.”

ALS is a rare degenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord along with causing progressive loss of muscle control. The disease has long been nickname Lou Gehrig’s disease after the iconic baseball player who had the condition in the 1930s.

Gayheart and Dane tied the knot in 2004. In 2018, the actress filed for divorce.

However, Gayheart filed to dismiss their divorce in March.

The “Jawbreaker” star told People about Dane’s diagnosis: “I don’t think I’m at a place yet where I can pull out a positive nugget. I’m not there yet.”

“I mean, we’re definitely dealing with something that has brought us all together, and Eric will always be my family, whether we’re married or not, or living in the same house or not, but yeah, we are closer, but we don’t like the reason why,” she said. “It’s a horrible disease, and I wish that there was a cure. I hope they find one soon, because it is just so sad.”

“We are best of friends. We are really close. We are great coparents,” Gayheart told E! News in April about their relationship status. “We really figured out the formula to staying a family and I think our kids are benefiting greatly from it and we are as well.”

Despite their ups and downs, the “Urban Legend” star doesn’t consider their relationship any less of a success.

“I think it’s important to not look at a relationship that ends as a failure. It’s just a season,” confessed Gayheart. “It wasn’t a failure. It was a huge success. We were married for, I mean, we are still married, but together for 15 years and we had two beautiful kids so I think that’s a successful relationship, and that’s how we look at it.”

A day after Gayheart’s comments, Dane announced he has amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

“I have been diagnosed with ALS,” he told People in a statement at the time. “I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter.”

“I feel fortunate that I am able to continue working and am looking forward to returning to set of EUPHORIA next week,” the actor continued. “I kindly ask that you give my family and I privacy during this time.”

Dane is set to reprise his role as Cal Jacobs, the father of Jacob Elordi’s character, Nate Jacobs, on Season 3 of the HBO drama.

After years of delays, the “Last Ship” actor began filming his scenes on April 14, per People.

Following Dane’s admission, Gayheart posted a photo of herself and their daughters via Instagram.

“Holding onto my girls tight and loving them hard today,” she penned. “So many broken hearts and shattered dreams.”

Earlier this month, Dane missed out on his planned appearance at the 2025 Emmy Awards.

Hours later, he showed up in a video on Instagram to promote a new campaign to help find a cure for ALS.

Dane sported a navy T-shirt that read “I AM ALS,” and addressed his diagnosis while showing signs of the neurodegenerative condition.

“I’m Eric. An actor, a father and now a person living with ALS,” he said in the clip. “For over a century, ALS has been incurable, and we’re done accepting the status quo. We need the fastest path to a cure and that’s why I partnered with I AM ALS on the Push for Progress. Our goal? A billion dollars over the next three years.”

Dane spoke slowly and occasionally slurred his words while his arms twitched uncontrollably at times.

I AM ALS responded about these movements, stating that the “brutal” disease “affects all muscles in the body, including vocal and throat muscles.”

However, Dane is staying positive about his future.

“Together, we’ll renew the landmark law ACT for ALS, get promising treatments to thousands of patients like me. And finally, finally push towards ending this disease,” vowed the star.

“There’s so much to learn. More to do and we have to do it now,” Dane said, while asking his followers to “visit the link below to donate. Get involved and be a part of pushing for progress.”
