Andrew Thomas’ return to practice got most of the attention, but the Giants got plenty of other good injury news on Tuesday.

Malik Nabers, who has been bothered this summer by a lingering toe injury, a sore shoulder and back tightness, returned to practice, though just in individual drills.

He is fully expected to be ready for Week 1 against the Commanders.

Cam Skattebo returned to practice as well and even participated in team drills.

He had been out with a hamstring injury. He missed time earlier in training camp, returned but suffered what head coach Brian Daboll described as a “setback” and sat out again until Tuesday.

Abdul Carter went viral after responding to a clip the official NFL account posted on X of him getting knocked to the ground with a chip block during the Giants’ second preseason game against the Jets.

“Might be the only highlight of the Jets all season and we put [belt to ass],” Carter posted. “Weak-ass chip ate that [motherf–ker] like bbq.”

Outside linebackers coach Charlie Bullen said Carter wasn’t happy the lowlight went viral in the first place.

“Definitely not,” Bullen said Tuesday. “He’s a super-competitive person, super-competitive player, that’s just how he’s wired. That was just him being competitive, which is part of what makes him a great player.”

Bullen also thinks it shows how much Carter is already feared.

“That’s just part of being a great player,” Bullen said. “It’s also a sign of respect that they’re gonna allocate somebody to not run a route and chip him. It happens. My focus is on the totality of what’s gone on, he’s had a lot of really good plays. That was one bad play. They happen. Move on. Keep it moving.

“He understands it, he’s hyper aware, he knows what that means. I think he was just frustrated. Rightfully so.”

Assistant general manager Brandon Brown believes, given all the investments made this offseason on defense, the Giants have formed a tangible identity.

“Look at the offseason construction,” Brown said. “There was an emphasis on rush and coverage. Rush and coverage is going to age well and lend to an identity. Whether it’s adding Abdul, adding Chauncey Golston in free agency. We talked about adding Jevon Holland and Paulson Adebo, creating more turnovers on the back end along with getting after the quarterback.”
