It worked for Liam Neeson — so why not Jason Statham?

As three different “Taken” films prove, moviegoers love it when action stars hunt down kidnapped daughters.

Statham’s latest star vehicle, “A Working Man,” was released on Friday, and in it, the British actor plays a former black ops soldier who takes a construction job, but swings into action when his boss’ daughter is taken by human traffickers.

“A Working Man” took in $5.6 million in first-day ticket receipts, which was just enough to land the film the box office’s No. 1 slot, according to The Numbers.

Another film hitting theaters Friday was “The Chosen: Last Supper, Part 1,” which earned $5 million during its first day.

The film, an extension of the popular series “The Chosen,” finds Jesus Christ returning to the holy city, only to find the Temple overrun by the corrupt and immoral.

The second part of the epic film releases April 4.

The universally-panned live action remake of “Disney’s Snow White” sold another $3.7 million tickets on Friday, its eighth day in theaters. The film has grossed more than $56 million.

Psychological horror flick “The Woman in the Yard” earned $3.6 million on its first day of release Friday, finishing No. 4 on the list.

The Top 5 was rounded out by star-studded film “The Death of a Unicorn,” starring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega, which raked in $2.2 million during its first day in theaters.
