“We are thrilled to confirm that 7UP Shirley Temple is on the way,” Andrew Springate, chief marketing officer at Keurig Dr Pepper, said about the recently rumored addition to the soda brand’s lineup. “A festive addition to the holiday season, 7UP Shirley Temple is a refreshing twist on the beloved classic featuring vibrant pomegranate and cherry flavors and a splash of citrus in every sip.”

Talk of a Shirley Temple from 7UP had been bubbling up on the internet — and the rumors are true. 7UP

The “festive” canned 7UP Shirley Temple is a combination of 7UP and grenadine flavors, “featuring vibrant pomegranate and cherry flavors and a splash of citrus in every sip,” Springate added.

When fans recently discovered the rumors from foodie Instagram account @snackolator, they were ecstatic — with multiple saying the release is a “dream come true.”

“The most overdue flavor ever. My kids and grandkids will be so thrilled,” one person said.

“It’s about time one of these big soda brands put out a Shirley Temple,” another wrote.

“Honestly why has it taken this long?” someone asked.

Even Broadway star and “Wicked” alum Kristin Chenoweth chimed in, commenting “I want some!!!”

One fan mentioned wanting to use it as a mixer since “a little vodka might make a lovely adult ST.”

To make a Dirty Shirley, the brand recommends mixing 5 ounces of 7UP Shirley Temple with 1 ounce of vodka, a splash of juice from maraschino cherries and a garnish of the latter.

The company confirmed that the nostalgic mocktail will hit shelves in a ready-to-drink version, available in a 12-pack of 12-ounce cans — including a zero-sugar version — as well as 2-liter bottles.

7UP Shirley Temple will be available nationally only for a limited time, from Oct. 15 through Dec. 31, 2024, while supplies last.
