Naomi is pregnant and relinquishing her Women’s World championship in WWE.

The WWE star, 37, made the announcement during “Monday Night Raw” on Netflix, following speculation that she and her husband, Jimmy Uso, were expecting, after news emerged that she was not medically cleared to compete in her scheduled match against Iyo Sky last week.

This is Naomi and Uso’s first child. The couple has been married since 2014. WWE did not immediately announce how a new champion would be determined, with Stephanie Vaquer originally getting a title match at Clash in Paris on Aug. 31

The pregnancy comes at a time when Naomi was truly hitting her stride since returning at the 2024 Royal Rumble for her second stint in WWE. She and Mercedes Mone, then known as Sasha Banks, walked out on WWE during Raw in May 2022 due to creative differences surrounding their Women’s Tag Team championships.

Naomi turned heel and debuted her “Proceed With Caution” persona after being revealed as Jade Cargill’s attacker at Elimination Chamber in March. Naomi won the women’s Money in the Bank match in June and cashed in her world championship contract on Sky during her match against Rhea Ripley at the all-women’s Evolution PLE on July 13.

It was her third world championship win in WWE and fourth overall. She’s had one successful title defense — beating Sky and Ripley in a triple-threat match at SummerSlam — during her 35-day reign.

Naomi said during an episode of Stephanie McMahon’s “What’s Your Story” podcast last week that she felt like the climate in WWE was in a good place for women to step away and have children.

“I always felt like I had this time crunch on me, but now, the women are showing and I really feel like if I wanted to stop and go have a baby, we can do it,” she said. “They’re doing it so gracefully, so beautifully, and it is hard. It’s not easy. I see the lows, but they get through it, and they’re better for it. And they’re inspiring so many women. I think that’s just incredible because sixteen years ago, you didn’t feel like you could do that. I felt like it was a wrap. You have a baby, you’re done.”

Now, Naomi can likely pick right up where she left off whenever she chooses to return.
