Now, that is a whooping confession!
Whoopi Goldberg, 69, shared during her birthday episode of “The View” Wednesday that she enjoys experiencing a specific type of oral pleasure.
While standing in front of a giant wheel of cheese with her face engraved on it, the “Sister Act” star went through a list of her favorite products in honor of her special day.
When co-host Sara Haines said to her colleague, “I always wanted my face on cheese,” Goldberg responded, “I like to be eaten from time to time.”
The studio audience erupted in laugher and applause while Haines returned and embraced Goldberg in a giant hug.
“Nevermind,” the host continued. “This is a wheel of authentic Parmigiano Reggiano from Italy, and this has been aged for 24 months and it’s a testament to Italian tradition and quality.”
But it wasn’t all smooth sailing for Goldberg’s on-air party.
During the show, the icon suspected that a certain establishment refused to make treats for her birthday episode due to her political views.
Shortly after closing out the show at the “Hot Topics” table with a round of Charlotte Russe desserts, Goldberg declined to name the bakery that made the tasty treats because she assumed they initially denied her order over her strong beliefs.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the shop was Holtermann’s Bakery on Staten Island, and the store’s owner, Jill Holtermann, confirmed to the outlet that Goldberg initially requested the desserts two weeks ago.
However, Holtermann denied the insinuation that she didn’t want to complete the order over Goldberg’s left-leaning politics.
“They’d asked us and we were having trouble with our boilers,” she revealed, noting that the talk show host initially requested treats for both a Nov. 6 and Nov. 13 broadcast.
Holtermann declined both offers because she “didn’t want to make a commitment that I can’t carry through” over the uncertainty of her equipment.
An unidentified woman did pick up around 50 Charlotte Russe desserts from the bakery at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, which she was able to make. Holtermann added that she was unaware that the woman picking up the treats was affiliated with “The View.”
“I said to Whoopi, ‘I can’t do it right now,’ ” admitted the owner. “We have so many things going on with my boiler, because the building is from 1930, so, when she called me, I had no idea [if we could] be baking everything.”
Holtermann reiterated that “it was not because of political” affiliations.
