When it rains, it pours for Rilo Kiley fans.
After radio silence for over 15 years, the beloved indie band announced a few festival dates and a mini-West Coast tour in early February.
Now, less than a month later, Jenny Lewis and co. have announced an East Coast leg to the ‘Sometimes When You’re On, You’re Really F—ing On Tour’ including a show at New York City’ SummerStage on Monday, Sept. 8.
If you’re not in the Big Apple, they’re also slated to hit New Haven, CT’s College Street Music Hall on Sept. 3 Philadelphia’s The Met on Sept. 4, Boston’s MGM Music Hall at Fenway on Sept. 7 and Washington, D.C.’s The Anthem on Sept. 10.
Fans that attend their Sept. 24 concert at Raleigh, NC’s Red Hat Amphitheater will be treated to a twofer: The Mountain Goats are listed as the opening act for that one show. Similarly, Julien Baker and Torres are opening for the group at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheater on May 14.
“It couldn’t have happened any sooner,” Lewis, 49, said. “It feels like now is the time to share that joy and love with each other and with everyone else.”
In addition to the 11 newly added concerts, Rilo Kiley also announced the release of their new 11-track Best-Of album “That’s How We Choose To Remember It.”
“For the superfan and the curious alike, this is the band-curated collection of songs from the one and only Rilo Kiley, who defined a generation and continues to influence indie rock to this day,” the “Silver Lining” group shared on Instagram.
Fans can purchase tickets for all upcoming Rilo Kiley shows on sites like Vivid Seats; the official on-sale for the newly-added East Coast ‘Sometimes When You’re On, You’re Really F—ing On Tour’ concert dates is Friday, Feb. 28.
