The Raiders may be a Las Vegas dud, but the UNLV Rebels are a relatively popular show in the entertainment capital.

UNLV is 8-2 this season and has not missed a beat under coach Dan Mullen, who replaced Barry Odom when he left to take over the program at Purdue following an 11-3 season with the Rebels.

The Rebels’ calling card is their offense, which ranks 45th in efficiency.

Their 112th-ranked defense certainly ensures the team finds itself in its fair share of shootouts, but the offense has been up to the task more often than not this year.

Virginia transfer quarterback Anthony Colandrea has orchestrated Mullen’s offense effectively, passing for 2,527 yards and 18 touchdowns on 67.1 percent accuracy. He also has 517 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground for the Rebels.

UNLV hosts Hawaii as a three-point favorite at Allegiant Stadium on Friday night, with a total of 64 points.

The Rainbow Warriors have their own impressive offense, although the numbers do not necessarily do it justice. That side of the ball ranks 90th in efficiency. I chalk that up to Hawaii facing a much tougher non-conference schedule, coupled with stud freshman quarterback Micah Alejado missing two games.

In past years, Hawaii struggled on the mainland, but that’s not the case this season. The Rainbow Warriors are 2-2 on the road and 7-3 overall, and the offense should click beautifully against a porous UNLV defense.

I have a 78-64-2 ATS record in this Post sports section. My next play is UNLV-Hawaii Over 64 (-110, BetMGM Sportsbook) in Vegas.

THE PLAY: UNLV-Hawaii Over 64 total points (-110, BetMGM Sportsbook)
