Tim Tebow and wife Demi-Leigh are kicking off the new year as parents-to-be.
The couple revealed Tuesday that they’re expecting their first child together, five years after tying the knot in January 2020.
“I feel like every time I say, ‘Tim’s going to be a dad!’ it feels so surreal,” Demi-Leigh, the winner of Miss Universe 2017, told People in an exclusive interview.
The South Africa native, who is currently 16 weeks into her pregnancy, said she “couldn’t imagine a better life partner” than Tebow, 37.
“To be able to raise a little tiny human being together. I’m so grateful that Tim is my husband… that we get to do parenting together,” Demi-Leigh, 29, said.
Tebow and Demi-Leigh announced their engagement in 2019 before getting hitched the following year.
Tebow, a former NFL quarterback and current SEC Network analyst, also shared how the “loving” mom-to-be will parent their bundle of joy.
“She will be extremely loyal and loving. Demi is someone that is extremely determined. When she sets her mind to something, she goes all the way in — and I know that she will do that as a mom, too,” he said, noting Demi-Leigh “is going to be a fierce defender and protector.”
A Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback at Florida, Tebow began his NFL career with the Broncos after being selected in the first round of the 2010 draft.
He played one season for the Jets before failed attempts to make the Eagles and Patriots rosters.
Although he pivoted to baseball in 2016 and signed a minor-league contract with the Mets, Tebow gave the NFL another go in 2021 as a tight end on ex-Florida coach Urban Meyer’s Jaguars.
He was released during training camp.
Tebow was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2023.
