They are head over heels for JFK Jr. — and these ’80s and ’90s hits.
Ahead of the finale of “Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette,” on March 26, Spotify compiled a list for The Post of the top 10 most streamed songs featured on the FX and Hulu miniseries since it premiered last month.
A remake of the 1985 Tears for Fears hit “Head over Heels,” from the indie pop band Japanese Breakfast, topped the list.
The song, which is played in the show’s trailer, has enjoyed a staggering 1800% increase on Spotify in global listens, the streaming service reported.
In second is the Lenny Kravitz hit “It Ain’t Over ’til It’s Over.”
The soulful ballad is played in Episode 1, when Bessette, played by actress Sarah Pidgeon, is standing at the Calvin Klein elevator saying goodbye to JFK Jr., played by Paul Anthony Kelly — who gives her a sexy smile just before the doors close.
“Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer took third. The 1998 alternative rock hit was played in the first episode of “Love Story,” which aired on Feb. 12.
The band’s lead guitarist, Matt Slocum, who wrote “Kiss Me,” told The Post he was “thrilled to be included” in the series.
“It’s a big honor when a song written almost 30 years ago continues to find new life and expression within new films and television shows, especially when the soundtrack contains numerous bands and artists that we’ve listened to, admired, been influenced and inspired by for decades,” he said.
Grammy nominee Sophie B. Hawkins told The Post she is loving the resurgence of her 1992 hit single “Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover,” which came in at No. 8.
When “Love Story’s” music supervisor Jen Malone reached out for permission, “I said yes right away,” Hawkins said.
“But I never would have thought it would have given ‘Damn’ this rebirth again.”
She only realized her song made the final cut after Episode 1 premiered and she was flooded with messages.
“People started just texting me, ‘Oh My God,’ your song is in it!” she recalled.
“And then I didn’t think about it. But then it got really intense, because people love the show so much.”
