The Giants can’t lose when it counts.

In a battle for pole position in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Giants fumbled their golden ticket in Week 17 for the second straight year, ending their nine-game losing streak and picking up their first road win of the season in a 34-10 victory in Las Vegas, handing the Raiders control of the No. 1 overall pick.

Last season, the Drew Lock-led Giants snapped a franchise-record 10-game losing streak and earned their first home win in the penultimate regular-season game against the Colts, surrendering their chance to land the top pick in the draft for the first time since 1965.

This year, the Jaxson Dart-led Giants (3-13) may have exchanged hours of happiness for years of regret after failing to secure the opportunity to trade the top pick to the highest bidder among quarterback-needy teams — including the Jets and the Raiders — with projected top pick/Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza potentially the only quarterback worthy of a first-round pick in an underwhelming class.
