It was a little before 11 on Monday night when Garrett Wilson gave his plea.
The Jets wide receiver had just played well again and saw it not matter again as his team lost to the Dolphins 27-21 to drop to 0-4. Now, he was asked about his message to his teammates about the next game against the Cowboys.
“At the end of the day, what do you want your legacy to be in this league?” Wilson said. “I look back on my time and man, we’ve got to go now. We’ve got to have it this week.”
You could feel the urgency as Wilson spoke. He is only 25, but with each passing week and then each passing season that the Jets remain inept, you start to worry whether the Jets are going to waste Wilson’s prime.
